The doctoring part of it or the Mike Simpson part? Either way. The doctoring part of it's okay.

So it's a job. I know some people say it's a calling and I do.

I'm proud of being a physician and it has been a very rewarding vocation.

But yeah, it's going okay.

What was your rank when you left the military, major?

Major, yeah.

I came up for lieutenant colonel uh and i deliberately

sabotaged my personnel file so that i would not get promoted uh because i i was afraid that

if they hung that promotion that carrot out in front of me i would be tempted to re-enlist.

And I was due to retire in 2016.

I had already done everything, gotten all my ducks in a row as far as lining up what I was going to do in retirement and my disability and everything else.

And the deployment, the opt tempo had been winding down down I had already turned in my gear at the

unit so I knew that deployment wasn't going to be an option anymore and I definitely didn't want to

be an a med lieutenant colonel and and everything that that would entail what does mean? So just it's once I left the unit,

I left the unit about a year out from retirement,

which meant I wasn't deploying anymore.

I wasn't working with soft guys anymore.
