The show that doesn't understand when an airline offers movies on an individual screen,

but are edited as if children are watching, especially when the edits are mostly language,

which a child sitting next to you can't hear because headphones are involved. Coming to you from MiniHQ in California, State on Fire on Thursday,

August 13th, 2015. Tickets are going briskly for Doug Loves' movies 12 guests of Christmas in New York City on November 30th.

It may be even sold out already, so we will most likely be adding a second regular style Dougloves movies taping on Sunday, November 29th at 8 o'clock, also at the Grammar seat. So keep an eye or ear or whatever you need to

keep out for that. Movie number 164 in the DLM Challenge, Ricky and the Flash. I went into this

expecting not to like it because the title, the trailer, and the poster that says, get ready for Ricky,

rubbed me the wrong way. I got the Ricky rub. I'm a big fan of Merrill Streep and director

Jonathan Demi and enjoyed some of the work of screenwriter Diablo Cody, to be honest. So I gave it a go anyway,

and while I didn't love it, it did sort of win me over. Not until the end, which I won't spoil,

but getting through a lot of it was rough. It slowly paced and features long musical performances

by Ricky and her band that might be more enjoyable with repeat viewings, but the first time made me a little squirmy.

So if a domestic drama with an occasional joke and a lot of classic rock songs sung by Meryl Streep sounds appealing to you,

then give it a shot.

But don't say I sent you.

While in New York City, I caught the stage musical Something Rotten, and I loved it.

So much that I hope it has a long enough run so that I can see it again.

Catchy tunes, great choreography, and very funny.
