In this episode Crawlspace Media's Tim Pilleri, Lance Reenstierna and Jennifer Amell speak about the abduction and murder of Maria Ridulph from Sycamore, Illinois on December 3rd, 1957. Maria was a 7 year old fun loving kid playing with her friend when a creepy man in his 20's approached them. Maria was soon abducted by the young man named who called himself "Johnny". Five months later Maria's lifeless body was found in a wooded area in Woodbine-about 90 miles from her home. 0:38.1

I'm doing pretty well today, Tim. The story that we are discussing today really leaves you with a lot

0:43.8

of questions, I guess, more than answers, but one question that needs an answer right now is how are you?

0:50.4

Oh, thank you very much for asking. I'm doing great. I'm excited to be here and talking about this case

0:57.1

with our friend Jennifer Amel, who's joining us for this one and this research was brought to us by

Marion White. So thank you very much, Marion. This is a great case to cover on this show. It's

1:11.0

very mysterious. A lot of twists. I had not heard of it either and yeah, I really appreciate

1:16.4

Marion bringing this one to us. The story is the murder of Maria Ridolph and this took place

1:23.1

in Sikamore, Illinois and she disappeared on December 3rd of 1957 at seven years old. She was

abducted and this spans the course of decades and decades generations and it's still in some way or

another continuing to play out today, which is really one of the most mind-boggling aspects of this

1:44.6

case. Yeah, really is Maria Elizabeth Ridolph disappeared on December 3rd, 1957, seven years old

1:52.2

at the time and she was found about five months after her disappearance murdered and there are

2:01.4

just a lot of twists in this case. There's at least a couple of suspects, one pretty good one

2:07.6

who even went to prison and will fully unpack this in the episode. I found it incredibly fascinating

2:14.8

when we were speaking about this that we started off in a period where there was no DNA where lie

2:19.9

detector tests were still sort of in their infancy, same thing with eyewitness accounts and etc etc.

2:27.6

And then you see how technology progresses and contributes to these results that play out as

2:35.4

the investigation continues over the course of decades. So that's a really fascinating element.

2:40.4

Also, check out the links to the sources that we have in the show notes, really good articles in

2:44.6

there, especially the one from the Daily Mail. And I know this case is from a while ago Lance, but

if anyone's got any information that can call Illinois Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
