If you haven't been listening up till now, Big Denver is the month where we talk about big movies. Big movies. Big things that you've heard of. None of this obscure shit. So we're going to talk about how Ralph Baxchey adapted Lord of the Rings into his own movie. Record scratch. No, we're talking about the Lord of the Rings, the trilogy, the famous Peter Jackson trilogy.

Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.

Now, we are coming into this episode with a huge disparity.

You are a huge lifelong fan of these movies.

I saw the first one in a theater fell asleep.

Saw the second one in a theater, couldn't follow it. Didn't see the third one in a theater fell asleep. Saw the second one in a theater.

Couldn't follow it. Didn't see the third one until this way. Wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You had seen the third one until this week. That is, I mean, I'd seen bits of it on TV. But everybody in school was probably like, we love Lord of the Rings. Actually, I think we would have been in high school at this point, right? I, the third one came out when we were in high school.

When I was in high school, the other two came out when I was in middle school.

I had trouble following these movies. I don't have a great head for fantasy. I don't have a great head for when Earth is Middle Earth and the bad guys are orcs and there are hobbits and there are other other species wow this is a real grandpa

in fact i'm far beneath it yes well i'm going to say right off the bat just to you know maybe lower

myself a little bit to your level that i have no affinity for Lord of the Rings as a property.

So have you read the books? No. Oh my God. Yes. Have I tried to read the books? Yes. I was hoping you had. Then we could generate some productive friction here. No. So I love The Hobbit, but that is a children's book. So I read it as a child. Well, thank God they made three movies out of it. Yes.

And when it came to Lord of the Rings,
