Hello friends, I'm Jillian. This is The Hamilkast and we're picking up with Josh Mitchell of the

podcast The Queendom and We Are Theater. Last week, Josh talked about how online fan

communities led him to a career in theater and podcasting and how, in a crazy twist,

the infamous Hillsong Church played a part in this journey. There's a lot more to it,

We start back in January of 2020. We're both at BroadwayCon and, well, I'll let him tell it.

So, six is a massive thing at BroadwayCon. It's BroadwayCon 2020, so...

BroadwayCon 2020. So, six weeks before everything shuts down.

We were just all beautiful, tropical fish. We had no idea what was coming at all. It was the

start of a new year. Yeah, I get there and I'm like decked out in six gear. It was a vibe.

I had people come up to me like, you're all squeed in, but I was like, yeah, that was kind of

cool for me. BroadwayCon was like the peak because we don't have conventions or anything here.

So, like, our community here is very spaced out across the country, which is really hard sometimes

because one of my creators for way of theater is in Adelaide, which is a four-hour flight.

A lot of my friends are in different states and things like that. So,

very different vibe. So, to go to a different country and be recognized as Queen and with

Dope as Hell. Totally. Then I had a couple of friends there, because at this point,

I was a part of the Broadway makers group. Oh, yeah. Of course, Andrea and all those, yeah.

Andrea and all them. So, they'd taken me on as like a content creator of sorts.

Oh, right. That's when I did that. I think, yeah. Yeah, you did a panel with them, I think.
