Today we journey into the text of Isaiah, hearing the call of a father to his stubborn children.

Into the text, I like the sound of that.

It's been a little while.

I've been on sabbatical, Sabbath session, season seven, and it's time to get back into the Bible itself.

The material text.

I feel about that, Brent.

I feel good.

And the way this document looks, it is threatening to go verse by verse through Isaiah.

We're not quite going to do that, but we've got a lot of text.

We thought about it.

As I put the document together, I'm like, man, I'm almost doing every verse.

And then I finally got two questions.

I was like, I could skip this.

It is hard.

It's hard to get into the...

It's very hard to pull out.

And I'm kind of glad we don't do this.

It's very difficult to just pull out a single passage or a paragraph or something.

I always want to look at this much larger kind of swath of text to see where it's come from and where it's going.

That's part of my challenge.

Verse by verse is certainly easier, but we'd be here for a long time in Isaiah.
