Hey there and welcome back to the Beginners Garden podcast. I have got a fun conversation for you today.

But first, to set up this conversation, let me ask you a question. Have you ever felt a sense of

excitement about what's to come in your garden journey? But then coupled with that is a little bit of a

feeling of overwhelm because maybe you're not quite sure how you want to do it all

and you're not sure what order to do certain things in. I think we've all felt that way.

And today's guest is Kevin Espiritu of Epic Gardening. And he's actually going to talk about something

a little bit different. We definitely are going to talk about gardening. We're going to talk about why he chose some garden spaces to be in the ground and why he

chose some to be in raised beds. But we're also going to be talking about different projects that he

has done on his homestead, projects from orchard care to water conservation, solar, all of those things, which may not be on your

radar at all. But the big theme is I think all of us want to continue to refine. That's a word

that Kevin will use in the episode that I think is fantastic. What we're doing in a way that makes

sense for us. Kevin, if you're not aware,

has recently published a book called Epic Homesteading, and I read it cover to cover. I feel like

it is fantastic. Even if I'm not going to do all the projects, he shows that he's done at his

place. I think this is a book that, yes, if you want to do the projects, then you've got a blueprint

here. But it also helps you to know, okay, what's going to be the next project for me and how to

know how to do that. We're going to talk about all of that today. And at the end, we're actually

going to talk about his greenhouse, which he didn't have a chance to include in the book. So

that was really fun to chat about with him, especially

with him being in San Diego, where I thought, why do you need a greenhouse? Well, he's going to
