This is Drey Baldwin. And Work on your game is the system that turns discipline into dominance. Today's topic is waiting is a hidden tax. Now,

everyone knows what a tax is, right? You know what taxes are. I'm recording this is tax season. By the time you hear, a tax season should be over, hopefully you saved enough of the money that you made and didn't have to give too much of it to the government. Maybe the government is giving you some of your money back that they took from you without your consent via your W-2s. But no, that's a different conversation. Definition of a tax is a charge usually of money imposed by authority on persons or property

for public purposes.

Every time you wait, there is a tax levied on you.

Now, you may not feel that waiting tax the same way you would feel the tax of, let's say, the United States government imposing taxes on you simply because it's not coming out of your pocket.

But there is a tax, and that's the reason why I'm doing this episode.

I didn't tell you that taxes are taxes because you already understand that you wouldn't need an episode on my show for you to understand and grasp that concept

of this one you are going to grasp. Readiness is often framed as prudence. So if I wait to, in other

words, a person saying, if I wait to get ready, quote unquote, whatever that means for you,

then that's looked at as being prude. It's's looked as being careful and you're planning ahead

and you're thinking in an adult light way because you're waiting until you are quote unquote

ready to do something. The issue with waiting to get ready is that it functions also as delay,

but it's disguised as responsibility. So when people say, I'm not ready to do that yet and they take their time doing
