hailing from one of my favorite hidden gems of a town in all of California, Ohio.

It's nestled up in the hills just about 20 minutes up a windy road from Ventura.

Sage has had an interesting professional surf career trajectory. She was a highly touted

pro amateur at the age of 14. And her competitive career has had more highs than a lot of other

competitors with multiple event wins. But it's also had more lows.

She's fallen off of tour and re-qualified three times over the course of her decade on tour.

She's publicly attributed those inconsistencies to a lack of focus or a diffused competitive drive.
