I read like the US standard editions because the UK covers for Percy Jackson books as a kid, but I'm the titular newest Olympian. I'm a 30-year-old man who never read the

0:37.7

Percy Jackson books as a kid, but I'm reading them now for the first time as an adult to determine if this is a book series that we, as society, have been sleeping on. I'm not on this quest alone, though. I'm joined by a Welsh booktuber, a big old nerd and all-around wonderful human being that I'm excited to talk with about this series. It's Joel, Rochester. Joel, how's it going? Hello. I am really excited to be here. Like, everyone has been mentioning the newest Olympian. And when you invite me on here, I'm just like, yes, this is something that I have to do, especially as also someone who only read like Percy Jackson as an adult as well and they stay out on my childhood.

1:12.1

I definitely feel like we can relate in certain ways. I'm definitely like highly anticipating the

1:17.2

rest of your journey throughout the entirety of the Percy Jackson series. I'm very excited to have

1:22.6

you as well. It is a two directional thing here where I've had many people recommend you to be a

1:27.1

guest on the show.

1:27.7

So I'm glad that we could finally make this crossover happen. Also, a lot of people have

1:31.7

been asking for more international guests. So the more the merrier, it's fun to hear all the

1:37.2

different perspectives. If things are changed for the U.S. versus the UK, I'm assuming you didn't

1:42.3

read it in Welsh, the ridiculous language that it is.

1:44.8

No, no, no. I don't even think they were published in Welsh, which was surprising. But no, I think

1:51.0

I read like the US standard editions, because the UK covers for Percy Jackson are abysmal.

1:56.4

Oh, interesting. And it should be removed from existence.

2:00.4

We Google Percy Jackson UK covers?

2:02.6

They're really bad.

2:03.6

It gives very much like 2005, like, fantasy vibes, like, Beast Quest almost.

2:10.6

Okay.

2:11.6

Very much, like, this is like a teenage boy series, like, need to read.

2:14.6

So I feel very much with like the new adaptation. Fingers crossed,

2:19.1

we get brand new covers for this series in the UK, please. I feel like I've seen something about,

2:25.3

maybe it's not a UK thing, but I feel like I saw something about new covers coming out.

2:28.5

But hopefully that's a case, I am looking, and I've cropped it so that I can only see the first two.
