There is a small nation built in a swamp that sits in the corner of Europe. It's nestled between

of the Netherlands. Over the course of its first 30-odd episodes, listeners have seen the

Ice Ages come and go, watched a lowlander revolt against the Roman Empire, and witnessed

the inventive construction of life-saving dikes and dams. They've been there for the country's

move toward urbanization, for the struggles of French and

German princes vying for power, and for more workers' revolts against those princes

than one could easily shake a stick at.
