Summary

I turned 35 this week.

And it feels like the entry point of the 2nd Act in a Three-Part Act that is our lives.

In many ways this is just the beginning of the next chapter.

This milestone got me to thinking about the things I wish I could have told myself 10 years ago, if only I would have listened.

This podcast goes out to all the 20 something entrepreneurs out there who want more and would be open to a few pieces of life advice.

If you're ready to build a 7-figure business you can sell that doesn't eat up all of your time, watch Ryan's FREE 4-part video series - The Perfect Business

I turned 35 this week.

And in my head, I think I'm gonna live at least to 105, hopefully longer, because I think

0:14.0

the technology is gonna make that easier. But 35 is interesting for me because it's like the entry point of the second part of a three-part act.

0:26.6

The first 35 years are when you're young and figuring things out.

0:32.6

And then that second act, 35 to 70, that's like the prime of life.

0:38.7

It's when you're at your highest production.

0:41.2

That's when you're able to use the life experience that you gained in the first part of

0:47.9

life and apply yourself and grow and leave a legacy.

0:53.5

And then that last third from 70 to 105, you're just old.

0:58.1

That's when you're thinking about what you're leaving for the next generation.

1:01.6

But it's this chapter in which you're becoming the legacy that you're going to leave.

1:09.2

And I've been thinking about entering into this chapter where this is

1:13.9

really where it starts. This is really day one for me. This is really day one of the next 35 years

1:22.7

of whatever I'm going to create and build and become. I don't know what that's going to look like,

1:30.6

but I do know what I've learned up to this point. And so in a mythical time in which we're

1:36.3

able to time travel, if my 25-year-old self sees this, I want to give you a couple lessons that I've learned up into this point.

1:47.7

And I hope that it prepares you for the person that you will become and the person that you want to be.

1:56.0

If you would ask my 25-year-old self what he would be like at 35, I think he would have said something

2:03.8

very different than how life turned out. First of all, I don't know that he would have expected

2:10.7

to have two kids at this point. I don't know that he would know that he would be living in a

2:16.4

completely different state

2:17.5

than he lives in.
