Now here's Paul with this final message from the Gospel of Mark.

Well, it is for me this evening.

A bit of a sad moment.

This is my last sermon before you from Mark.

Next Sunday, I preach the final service of our urban ministry conference and then my time as the

evening preacher here at 10th is done.

When I knew that that was coming, I had thought some weeks ago of trying to finish all of Mark and several big gulps and figured that wasn't possible for me and wouldn't be helpful for you.

And Robert Poland was sitting beside me, said that Mark is very skilled in his gospel with abrupt endings.

Very often the stories in Mark end very abruptly, and then he moves on.

So I'm going to have a Markian ending to my preaching rather abrupt here in Chapter 11.

It has truly been for me a tremendous honor to be in this position, and I have known, no, in my heart heart I have benefited more from the truths of

Mark than anyone who has sat before me. I've been very thankful for just a renewal of

enthusiasm for the depth and practicality of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Well, you can turn there in Mark 11.

Religion can be a very dangerous thing.

Because it's very possible for religion to be very active and seemingly

healthy and very busy but not involve God at all and that really is the warning of this passage.
