at Billings. Today I'm with Redent and Elgro Refix to pontificate on the

practice of prayer. What? What? That is not what we decided on. Did we decide? We

absolutely decided that that was preposterous but I decided to do it anyway.

I decided to proceed anyway. Well, I think the only thing for Eden and I to say then is

guess you should just pray. Yeah, pray for me. And then we'll hang up. I just want to say

Brent went rogue on that introduction. That was that is not the word that I or L would have

authorized. So that was all Brent. I don't remember any authorization of anything. I just

remember the 20 minutes that we wasted talking about movies just now. Wasted! Wasted!

What I'm hearing is you don't believe in community Brent. I do actually. I just believe in

community after the recording. Okay, so here we are. Very clearly in a session 7, a different vibe

indeed. One might say a combative vibe. It's a senioritis for session 7. This is the last

regular episode of session 7 and I guess we're all getting a little antsy. Maybe, but we're having

fun along the way. So we're talking about prayer. I'm going to do a little biblical intro to prayer

and then read is going to talk about his regular prayer practices or favorite prayer practices

or maybe just interesting ones. I don't know. Maybe he doesn't do any of them. So just

emboster. And then I have three that I'm going to do. That sound good. Sounds amazing. Let's do it.

Excellent. Okay, so in English the word prayer comes from Latin prakare which means to earnestly

beg or entreat. And sometimes I think we carry that association with us when we think about

prayer that like, oh, that's asking for something, right? But in the text we see kind of three

different words in the Hebrew Bible around prayer. And then our Greek has its own thing going on,

of course. But the first kind of prayer doesn't even have a name, right? It's just God and people
