Summary

Empathy means understanding how someone else feels. In this episode, I break down why people don’t ask for empathy equally. They usually demand it from those they think will give it, and stay quiet around those who won’t. I believe empathy is often requested based on leverage, status, and perceived vulnerability. People calculate who feels safe to push and who doesn’t. So the conversation isn’t just about feelings. It’s about power, positioning, and who holds the advantage in the moment. Show Notes: [03:40]#1 Empathy is a mandate from those who expect someone to yield. [14:21]#2 Power determines who gets empathy versus who gets accountability. [20:17]#3 Empathy is a tool used to suspend standards selectively. [24:42]#4 Empathy is almost always enforced downward, never upward. If you are operating in environments where hesitation costs money, authority, or leverage, the Power Presence Mastermind exists as a controlled setting for discipline, execution, and consequence-based decision-making. Today's topic is why empathy is selectively requested and selectively enforced. What

0:41.7

is empathy mean? Empathy is about understanding the way that another person is feeling. And

some people talk about empathy when they're the ones giving it. But often you hear people

talking about empathy when they're the ones asking to have it given to them. The reality here today, that's what we're talking about from that end. People pick and choose

who they demand empathy from and when and why they demand empathy. That's what we're going to

talk about here today. And I believe this is the argument I'm going to make here today, that people

apply this strategically based on their leverage,

status, and perceived vulnerability either of themselves or the person from whom they are requesting

or demanding empathy. People do not ask for empathy from those who they know they won't get it

from, but they will ask of and demand it from people who they know they can get it from, or at least they think they will. Let's get into it. Point number one, today's topic, once again, is why empathy is selectively enforced. And the reason why I'm talking about this, just to get you a little bit more for beginning to the first point, is that our society, Western society, has become increasingly weaker over the last, I would say, 10 to 20 years.

We've gotten a lot weaker. The reason why we've gotten a lot weaker is because men have gotten
