Investigators looking into the October 21st, 2021 death of Helena Hutchins,

director of photography on the set of Rust, uncovered many,

many concerning things, including that armor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and first assistant director

Dave Halls had prior histories of safety concerns on other productions. Crew members from past

projects described reckless handling of firearms,

skipped safety meetings, and unsafe working conditions, and despite those warnings, both were still

hired on Rust. Hannah and Dave were brought in for additional questioning with investigators.

Hannah insisted she had checked the rounds and that there were no hot rounds in the gun,

but we know that wasn't true because the gun contained a live fucking round.

Dave, on the other hand, admitted he did not properly check the firearm before handing it
