thought, basically any reaction you could possibly imagine to the leaps and bounds, companies

like OpenAI and their products like ChatChipD4 have made over the past year. Big lesson,

I've learned from my coverage of the metaverse and cryptocurrency topics during the post-COVID

tech boom and bust is that it's best to zoom out without getting too focused on specific

claims and predictions when it comes to emerging technologies. Instead, one should seek a

broad outline and then fill in the frame over time, which allows you to check and then

just revise your thoughts as you go along. My guest today then is Paul Sharay, author

of four battlegrounds, power in the age of artificial intelligence, Paul is a former

army ranger and is currently vice president at the center for a new American security.

We look at the AI topic to the lens of how Washington and the national security community

are responding, especially as other countries and regions, both allied and rival, seek to
