Summary

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and journalist David Zweig discuss his role in breaking the Twitter Files, government censorship in society, the extent to which lockdowns were effective, how they affected children in particular, and how one renegade church would not bow to overzealous regulation.   David Zweig is a writer and journalist, with multiple books published, such as “Invisibles” in 2014 and the upcoming “Abundance of Caution” that centers on the effects of the COVID-19 response on schools and children. He was also one of the journalists who helped break the Twitter Files, focusing on the suppression of information to the satisfaction of the U.S. government and the public health establishment.     - Links -   For David Zweig:   Substack: https://davidzweig.substack.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/davidzweig Website: https://davidzweig.com/   Read David’s article that we discussed in the episode:   “When a Renegade Church and a Zealous County Health Department Collide” https://davidzweig.substack.com/p/when-a-renegade-church-and-a-zealous   Learn more about your ad choices. Today I'm speaking with journalist and writer David Swag about, among other topics, his

0:20.0

involvement in the Twitter files, the culture of silence and fear and suppression around

0:25.5

discussing COVID-19 related stories and the detrimental effects of lockdowns on a generation

0:32.8

of children.

0:34.3

So David, one of the things I really wanted to talk to you today, I think it'd be interesting

0:39.8

1:15.1

government officials and Twitter in particular, but media in general with regards so-called

1:21.5

to crafting the narrative around COVID.

1:23.7

And I'm not very impressed by government media collusion efforts to craft narratives.

1:29.8

That's certainly not the media's role.

1:31.8

That's 100% certain to craft narratives with the government.

1:35.2

And I don't think that that's justified, even in the face of a so-called emergency.

1:42.1

In fact, that might be the time when it's most important for the media to not collude

1:46.7

with the government so that we can be sure that the response to the emergency isn't

1:51.4

worse than the bloody emergency, or isn't ill-founded in some other grounds, because it

1:57.6

often is.
