TNG podcast today's guest is very exciting and I want to set the stage

appropriately. You may have heard of the term Dula defined as someone who is employed to guide and support a woman

through birth. You could say Dula's are trained to help with the beginning moments of

life. What I learned recently is there are some dualas trained for the last moments of life and today

we have Myra who is a professional death dula. Myra, welcome to the show. Thank you. So a couple of things, one, so I learned, just so everyone knows, I learned the term death Dula. It's like seven days ago.

And that was through a friend of a friend who used to be one.

And I'm like, I have to speak to someone who does this.

So for the last week, we've been calling people, calling doula's, but when I say calling people,

my wife had gone around texting friends saying do you know any death

dualists with the intention of doing this but we didn't really add that context

so we have a lot of friends who are like, is everything okay?

So yeah, I just kind of want to start simple. Can you just for everyone listening can you just explain

maybe like generally what a death duel it does?

Sure. Yeah. So a death dula like you said is somebody who is

there to usher folks through the last moments of their life. But that can take place any time from a couple

months prior to their death or in the final moments only. So death toll is actually run the gamut. The standard of care is for

people to have a good death to die with comfort and peace if possible.

So what a death duel is going to do is,
