Thanks for listening and thanks for your support at the end of 2023. It is an ancient hymn, O Come O Come Emanual, and it's fitting that it is one of the longest sung songs of the church because in one

former another the church has been singing this song since well well, by the spirit, St John tells us in the closing of the book

of revelation to continually pray, come, Lord Jesus.

And that's what we're doing when we pray, oh come, oh come,

Emmanuel. Now he's already come in his incarnation, but he's promised to come again

in more than one way, to come to us and to be with us to abide with us

continually through his word and through his sacraments but he's also promised that second coming and when we sing

this song of Advent O come O come Emmanuel we're really asking for all three things from our

Emmanuel God with us, from our wisdom,

from the Lord of Might, from the Branch of Jesse's Tree,

and so on.
