Dr. Anthony Youn completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan and then went on to earn his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed his general surgery and plastic surgery residency at the Grand Rapids/Michigan State University program. Dr. Youn is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).

Apart from his medical practice, Dr. Anthony Youn is also an author and has written books such as "In Stitches" and "The Age Fix." He is known for sharing his insights on plastic surgery and beauty through various media outlets, including television appearances and his blog.

ways that we can age really well. He is definitely not an anti-ager. He's a pro-aging well, and he's got some great tips that he shares. I have so many questions for you. Thank you so much for being here today. Thank you so much, Natalie. So let's back up a little bit. First of all, how did you end up with 8 million followers on TikTok? Where did that even come from? You're a surgeon. How did this happen?

Yeah. So, you know, it was March of 2020. I had been on TikTok for several months. We're just kind of playing around with it. And then the pandemic hits. And I find myself in an empty office with

10 employees who I promised to pay. And when I looked at my bank account, I figured out very

quickly that the money I was making the most out of was from social media because I had no patients that I could see. And then I started thinking, you know, as a physician, like, you know, it was a really scary time. People were trapped in their houses. Everybody was afraid of getting sick and their family getting sick. And as a plastic surgeon, I'm used to helping people in one way. but even though I volunteered for my local hospital, they didn't need me at the time. And thank God, because if you have a plastic surgeon taking care of your lung issues, you know, it's bad. So I thought, you know, how am I going to help people in this difficult time? And I thought, you know what, let me just start creating content to educate and entertain. And it was that entertainment part of it that really caught on.
