We are on the threshold of a new year 20 20 20

0:07.8

20 and for most of us that means reflecting on the previous year what went right, what went wrong, and then

0:15.8

making a game plan for the next coming year.

0:20.0

So I'd like to help you today prep for an outstanding Catholic year. We're going to talk about

0:26.0

liturgy and theology and scripture and health and all that and setting proper goals. Now, you might be kind of turned off by that or resolutions

0:36.2

but it's a great time to rethink what you do on a daily basis a weekly basis a monthly basis and a yearly basis and also look at the reason why most if not well not all but most goals most New Year's resolutions fail they say within the first 21 days.

beatific vision it's to be a partaker of the divine nature so that's the goal

1:28.8

so everything we do on a hourly daily daily, weekly, monthly basis and annual basis should point us to that

1:36.6

final goal.

1:37.6

So goals are embedded in Catholic life.

1:41.6

We are habituated people. We even say that grace is habitual,

1:45.7

sanctifying grace is habitual grace. The virtues are habits.

1:50.3

Everything that we're doing is habitual and goals are what helps us find that

1:55.4

final causality and execute the habit. So in order to have a proper goal it has to be
