I think that the best summary word in the New Testament is in 2nd Corinthians 5, where Paul uses the word ambassadors.

We are there for Christ's ambassadors.

What is the only thing an ambassador ever does?

It's represent.

And so how I I positioned, how am I gifted, what skills and life experiences and opportunities has God ordained for me that positioned me to represent him somehow, some way in my life.

And I think that we've, we have tend to develop an evangelical culture that it makes sense

for seminary students to ask that question, Christian college students to ask that question.

People are heading for vocational ministry, but not everybody else.

And what that creates then in the church is a whole lot of passivity because people don't think

that way.

And so my life belongs to me,

and I give a little bit of my time to ministry

and a little bit of my money to the church,

but that's it.

And we end up with this culture of Christian consumerism where the burdens of ministry are really

borne by a shocking few.

And most Christians just, they just don't live asking that question.
