you know but with surprising origins. Others are stories that might be new to you but are definitely

worth a listen. Today's story is from Britain in either the fourth, eighth or 11th century.

It's a legend, and kind of a famous one at that.

And we've actually mentioned a small part of the story on the podcast before.

We'll jump in with a woman and

her son and one of them is getting out of the dark forest no matter what it takes. George waited until she was below, down in the cellar. When she disappeared around the

corner, he lowered the doors down, so the wood didn't smack stone, and he slid a broom in the handles.

He whispered a quick sorry, and slid from the house.

When he was far enough out, he ran. It wasn't that he didn't love his mother, he did. He just

wanted more than a life in the forest, even if it was with her. He had grown up

with only Kalib in the heart of a thick forest.
