Hey, listeners, I'm Ishi Harmon and this is Israel Story. So Sunday evening is Chavut,

that delicious holiday that magically manages to combine creamy cheesecakes, water-filled balloons,

staying up all night in the giving of the Torah. It is, by far, my favorite Jewish holiday of the year.

And speaking about favorites, I often get asked what my favorite Israel story episode is.

Sometimes I answer that it's whatever episode we happen to be working on at the time,

but usually I just dodge the question and say that it's like

choosing which child you love the most. The truth, however, is that over the years there

have been some episodes that have stayed with me more than others, and one of them is a

Shavuot special we released seven years ago in 2018, and which we want to share with you again today.

Okay, so it's Tuesday morning, 8 a.m.

We're here together in the German colony.

A lot of traffic, people going to work, people going to school. And can you,

can you introduce yourself? Sure. My name is Fleur Hassan Nahum. I am a city councilwoman in

Jerusalem and I'm also the leader of the Yerushalmin party. Our party is a party that believes in a

pluralistic Jerusalem and we fight for it every day.

And where are we, Fleur?

We're on the corner of Ruth Street, intersecting with Rahel Ibnu Street.

So we have Rahel, our mother, and Ruth.

So two of our heroes from our heritage.

Ruth Street is named for Ruth the Moabite,

the heroine and namesake of the biblical Book of Ruth.
