Rebekah Mayer

Rebekah combines over 25 years of running experience and an education in the sport to support her role as the National Run Training Manager for Life Time. As a mom of 3, she also knows first-hand the joys and challenges of balancing family, career and training while she tries to improve her 2:59 marathon PR. Rebekah was a member of the 2003 NCAA-II XC Championship team at Adams State College, and is a 6-time All-American. She currently holds multiple coaching certifications, including USATF Level 2 Endurance, RRCA and Precision Nutrition.

All right, Rebecca, we're here. We're just leaving what the St. Louis Park Lifetime Fitness. This is one of my favorite places to run from. But I don't get over here very often. We haven't run together in years. What's the heck? I know. It's been a long time. Three kids, life chaos, right? We both have three each. Tell me about your kids now again. So Joshua is eight, going into third grade. You're older than Ruby, right? Yeah. And then Ryan is five year older than that.

Kindergarten. And Mariana is almost two. Yes. Yeah, you were just kind of a little bit in front of me on all of them. Right. Now, how old is Greer?

Greer is 18 months. Okay. Yeah, they are really close. I know. And I just remember like,

I mean, there was one, was it your second when you, did you run the entire time or no?

No. There was one that you kind of struggled.

Okay. My first, the best. Okay.

My first I had a month of bed rest. Oh, at 31 weeks. Oh, love one. So yeah, exactly, right.

So that kind of stopped the running. Totally stopped the running and the working and everything else. And then so with my

second, I was considered high risk. So third trimester hits, no exercise. But you know what? They both came

late. Yeah, because they both came late anyways. Oh. Stubborn boys. Sorry boys. My boys are two. So then with the

third, it was, we figured, well, the first two came late anyways. Yeah. Even though I had crazy contractions.

Right. So we weren't as concerned and the doc let me run as long as I was comfortable.
