On January 17, 1706, Abbea Folger and Josiah Franklin

welcomed their ninth child into the world. It was a baby boy that they

named Benjamin. That makes today January 17th anniversary of Benjamin Franklin's birth.

There are a lot of history books and biographies about Benjamin Franklin.

They tell us about his youth and his accomplishments in business, politics, and diplomacy.

They tell us about his interest in electricity and science

and about his philanthropic work.

But only a handful of these books

actually tell us about Benjamin Franklin as a man.
