The I'm going to Hello and I have three spooky stories for you today and the last story comes from March the 20th

2024 and story number one comes from Allison. So we have a friend of my other half

staying with us for a couple of days. He's brought his motorcycle engine all the way from Northern

Ireland to Devon for my partner to rebuild. There is dedication. But sitting this morning over coffee we were talking about the history of

Dartmouth more which we are close to and Mart mentioned that he had had a few weird experiences.

Mart is from Northern Ireland but has spent some time living in the

southwest in Devon and Cornwall. He had a job driving buses around the New Key area of Cornwall. One day he was driving the route from New Key to Summercourt, pottering along as normal in his double-decker bus.

The bus was empty. It must have been outside of the tourist season.

Ding!

Mart Frowns. And knowing the bus is empty, ignores the next stop please bell he drives on but half a mile later it

rings again more insistently ding-ding! Now he's pretty sure the bus is empty but just in case he pulls up at the next stop.

He checks the top deck and no one is there.

He checks the lower deck nothing.

It really is empty. There is not a soul on the bus. He's not

comfortable but with nothing else to do about it carries on back to the depot.

All the way back the bell rings intermittently. Being

reasonably sensible he wonders about the possibility of a dodgy connection in

the bell wiring, but it doesn't ring out going over bumps, it's ringing with the

insistency of a person who has missed their stop.

Ding, ding, ding! I did ask if he opened the bus doors when he first stopped.

No, he said.

That's a bloody good point I wish I had.
