And the impetus for today's show topic was the recent tragedy in Beirut.

When I first saw that video of the explosion in the port of Beirut, I was flabbergasted.

I was awestruck.

I couldn't believe an explosion that large could be.

At first, I thought it was a nuclear explosion, but then I did a quick bit of research to see.

No, it was a conventional explosion, and it does make my list for today.

The tragedy and disaster is still ongoing.

So as I read more about that disaster in Beirut, I noticed there were some commonalities

with other large man-made explosions that had occurred somewhat recently.
