On this episode, among many other things, Joey talks about an older man he knows using weed (illegally) to cope with pain instead of his prescribed drugs, and feeling guilty about it. We're having a blast doing this podcast; it really is a privilege to be able to hang with our friends and process out loud. It's a bonus to know we've helped other people a find like-minded group although on the internet. It's kind of a win-win, so thanks to all you listeners for putting up with our dumb asses.

1:25.0 | This is the job or job podcast network visit job or job media.com for more shows like this one. |
1:35.0 | What's up, but has this is Matt a quick note before we start the show today. Recently, there's been a controversy about our podcast and a blog article written about us and more specifically our private Facebook group that the fan club of bad Christian has. |
1:50.0 | We got a BC club. It's got about a thousand people in it. But there's a controversy over some stuff that's been in there and some screenshots out of that group that have been leaked. |
2:00.0 | And so interestingly enough, there's so many people that want us to make a statement that I thought there's really no reason not to do that. And here's why the reason I'm glad to give a statement is because clearly bad Christians principles always have been both freedom to express yourself and do what you want to do. |
2:17.0 | And also transparency and authenticity. So I got no reason not to address this. And in the interest of transparency, I thought the best way to give a statement would be the most casual way possible, which is somebody asked me on text message was Matt McDonald from the classic crime, asked me on text message what was going on. And I responded to him real quick. And then after I wrote it down, I thought, well, that's basically it. So I'm just going to read you a text message, but you can take it now. It's not an apology. |
2:43.0 | But you could take the statement, you know, any way that you want to, but I wouldn't consider an apology per se. |
2:49.0 | But this is the text message that I responded to him to explain what's going on. And you can quote it and use it at length from here. And in whatever way that you like, but it's right out for my phone. So he said to me, have you guys said on the podcast that the use of the word cut and stuff like that in the BC club is bad. |
3:08.0 | Have you said the name calling with bad language is probably a no no. And I said, well, I don't think we've explicitly condemned murder theft or saying cunt, but I would have no problem doing so, which is true. |
3:20.0 | You should not use that word when you're talking about a woman if you're using it for George, a hundred percent agree you should not do that. |
3:28.0 | Also, the next thing that happened is a bunch of people right there in the Facebook group condemning the person that said it now those screenshots were not shared or leaked or published, but that is the next thing that happened. |
3:40.0 | Additionally, the person who said cunt was in a private Facebook group is from another country. He was chastised. He apologize in our own group. He apologized publicly, not just privately. And although now the group is in turmoil over the betrayal of the community. |
3:57.0 | The leak many people in our group fear losing jobs or being shown by family because of the stuff that they have confessed to or admitted or talked about openly in the group. |
4:06.0 | People are now afraid that will be leaked. We've got many people that are in the closet with their sexuality and haven't come out yet, etc. |
4:13.0 | And the non-public figure individuals from the group who were screen-shotted are now being personally targeted and harassed by actual, real coordinated attacks that originate in other private Facebook groups and many other individuals, humans who have been hurt here the way we see it. |
4:30.0 | So it is a problem. And that's it. That's how I explain the problem in the text message. And I believe that is basically the truth. |
4:37.0 | So yes, don't use the word cunt if you're a bad Christian listener. Don't call women derogatory things. Use your best ability to not do that even accidentally. That is our position on that. |
