2006 NBA season. And Cody, honestly, I can't believe it's only been two weeks. It feels

like it's been about two months since the season started all that way

back long time ago when OKC and Houston were going into triple overtime every night and things

like that were happening. We touched on something recently that I have to get off my chest.

Okay. I have to I have to circle back. Sometimes people ask me about things we learn over the years and where I

change my mind and things like that. And I try to keep a running inventory of little bets or little

things that I kind of put a pin in and come back to. Right. Okay. Yeah. And a couple years ago,

there was a big trade with emmanuel quickly and

emmanuel quickly is a really quick guard who plays at kentucky and tyrese maxi played at kentucky and

we were discussing these two players uh in in a similar you know we're comparing and contrasting them

right and a lot of time it's gone by since that trade and I'm just like that's that that's just a big big

big L that's all that is Tyree's Maxie is amazing he's been amazing he's been he's been trending

into amazing for the last couple years and Emmanuel quickly I think Cody is yet another example of

one of these players that coming off the bench had great plus minus indicators.

And it's like the old Nick Collison corollary.

Nick Collison back when he played in Seattle and in Oklahoma City, like he played like 18 minutes a game.

And you just look at that.

And you'd be like, why doesn't he play 36 minutes a game?

Every time he's on the court, good things happen. And you can't always trust that data. And we talked about it with quickly where he was like encroaching on having some of the all-time great long, multi-year sample runs in New York, especially defensively. And it is not panned out. It's not panned out.

Yeah, no, I remember, I think we were on the pod talking about it between OG and Anobi and Quigley. That was kind of like the one-to-one comparison here. First, the anti-shout, but Zach Lowe likes to come on his podcast, and he was like, oh, there were some people out there that was really like, oh, you're missing out on quickly. Okay, sorry, Zach.
