Hi friends, I'm Jillian and welcome back to the Hamilkast.

This is the second half of my conversation with Darnal Abraham,

whose currently George Washington on the N Peggy tour.

In last week's episode, Darnal talked about his beginnings growing up in California,

getting an education in performing art schools, and how early introduction to Shakespeare and Opera

led him to the World of Musical Theater. He also told me about his experiences auditioning in

New York, the importance of saying no, earning his equity card, and so much more.

But hey, if you're all caught up, here's part two of my conversation with Darnal Abraham.

Alright, so tomorrow, can you come in? Then what?

Yeah, alright, so I cried, and then, um, no, I didn't cry, but I felt like it was almost like,

I didn't feel deflated, but I felt like overwhelmed. You know, it was like, oh god, here we go again.

It's like, you think you can sleep. It's like, when you get ready to go to bed,

and then there's like one thing you forgot to do, like, I, like, I have an Apple Watch, right?

Yeah. And so sometimes I'm just like exhausted. I do everything, watch my face, brush my teeth,

I'm so excited, the dogs in bed, mics in bed, and I lay down and I realize the stupid Apple Watch

is still on my wrist and not on the charger. And then it's like, ah, that he has to like,

yeah, and it's the stupidest little thing, but it's like, I can imagine that you're celebrating

because you think that you don't have to be in that mindset anymore.

And then there's an email telling you, well, actually, you have to get right back into it.

And that can be very like a shock to the system. Like, I wait, I thought I was done.
