and I have three spooky stories for you today

and the last story comes from the 11th of March 2024 and story number one comes from Amanda.

My story is not particularly scary but it is a little strange.

It took place during the summer holidays when I was around 14. My mom didn't have a lot of money for

holidays so most summers were made up of day trips and long walks in the countryside. This day we had planned a long walk from Greenfields near Oldham to Homeforth, where the last of the summer wine was filmed.

We took my two younger cousins aged 12 and 10 with us.

The route took us along the A65 which runs past the Dovestone Reservoir and the cross part of Saddleworth Moore.

Saddleworth Moore has a dark history and in bad weather can be a very desolate and sometimes dangerous place.

We stuck to the road because knowing that the weather can

change very quickly out there we didn't want to end up lost wandering around and

trying not to step in a peat bog which can swallow you up and you'll never be found again.

The weather was perfect when we set off and the Dovestone Reservoir was beautiful, sparkling in

the sunshine. We were almost at the halfway point when the weather changed very, very quickly.

The mist or more grime, as locals call it, came down. We could not see much more than 10 feet in front of us.

The mist was wet and seeped through clothing very quickly.

My mum said we could stop and waited out under waterproof tarpaulin that

she had brought with her or we could carry on. We decided to carry on. After a short while, three sheep jumped over a crumbling drystone wall
