All right, welcome back to day two of the Daily Blade. We're in Galatians chapter six. We're

going to pick it up in verse 12. We're going to get back more to the theological stuff that

Paul is talking about. Paul says, it is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh

who would force you to be circumcised.

Now, just in case you're late to the game here in the book of Galatians, Paul plants the church in Galatia.

It starts with the gospel.

People get saved.

People are walking in the freedom of Christ.

And then a group of religious people known as the Judaizers infiltrate the church,

and they begin to preach a false gospel.

They begin to teach Jesus plus the obedience

to the Old Testament law, especially circumcision, is a requirement for you to be saved. And that is not the

gospel. And so Paul says to this as he's wrapping up this letter, he says, it is those who want to make a good

showing in the flesh who would force

you to be circumcised and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you

circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

Okay, this is another dig at the Judaizers.

Here's what Paul wants us to know.

That religion, for religion's sake, is rooted in fear and control and comparison.
