Welcome to the 2026 NBA season, or as they call it in Canada, the 2025, 2025, 2006.

That's the full name, Cody, NBA season. We are back. Cody Hodeck, ladies and

gentlemen, is here for yet another year. I can't believe this is our eighth year of the

Thinking Basketball podcast. You're giggling already. I don't know why. Is our eighth year

at the Thinking Basketball podcast? This has got to be like our fifth or sixth NBA preview show for a season and if you're if you're new to this we cody's definitely

going to bring up the gym at some point today who in the off season has done the most working out

we're going to probably spend 97% of the time talking about the west and then acknowledge that the

eastern conference is actually sneaky interesting but the Eastern Conference is a thing and we

will, without a doubt, bring up a stat that is way too detailed and hardcore at some point

even for our own good, but that's what preseason basketball is for Cody, right? It's for

finding minuscule statistical things that happen in a four game sample. Wait, you have a stat from the preseason that you're going to bring in. It's not like a stat from last season that you're using to inform your preview stuff. That's what you mean? Can I be honest? It is not a preseason stat, and now I feel like I've let you and the audience down because in the past I have used

preseason data to much avail but I think we should how are you feeling are you feeling are you

ready to go I'm really excited I was um I always find this pod to be very daunting because there's so

many teams and I know like at one point we're going to talk about a team and some like someone from the Hawks is just going to be so mad we didn't bring up the eighth guy.

They're going to be like, how how dare you forget the development of so and so during the off season?

I'm, I'm sorry.

I just didn't think they would be that relevant.

I probably should have also added in my preamble as a reminder to new listeners that Cody and I don't know

who plays for which team yet. We try to get it all sorted out during the preseason, but I will

definitely have a depth chart up in the background to double check myself when it comes to who he
