Our guest today is Sean Carroll.

He's a research professor of physics at Caltech,

specializing in quantum mechanics, gravitation,

cosmology, statistical mechanics,

and the foundations of physics. And he's also the author of several popular science books including from

eternity to hear the particle at the end of the universe and the big picture he's

also served as a science consultant on movies and TV shows such as Thor,

Bones and Tron Legacy. And we'll be speaking with him today about his new podcast Mindscape.

Okay, and so you recently launched a new podcast called Mindscape.

So why did you decide to get involved in podcasting?

Yeah, well, you know, that's a good question because it wasn't it all clear.

I'd been on plenty of podcast before, so I thought about it,

and I'm always, you know, the second wave of adopters of new

social media technologies whether it's blocking or Twitter or anything I'm not at

the cutting edge at the bleeding edge of progress but I I resisted podcasting a long time because it seemed

like it was more work, right? It requires more investment than just getting on Twitter or something
