So, let's talk about Johnny Cash's favorite finger.

I have to set this up for us.

As you're listening to this, controversy erupted a couple of weeks ago

when New St Andrews College released another marketing video, and the video was cast in the form of wanted young men who

will do the following things or cultivate the following attitudes and so on.

In the course of the ad,

there was a clip of a few seconds

where the ad in effect said,

we wanted young men who were willing

to hoist the Jolly Roger or Johnny Cash's favorite finger

while confronting idolatry followed by an image of the blasphemous Last Supper

seen from the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

Okay, so and that caused a controversy to erupt.

You're listening to this a week or so

after all this just yesterday and I'm I'm right in the throes of it right now

just yesterday a day or two after the ad dropped, I checked and just on Twitter,

the video had been viewed over 350,000 times. So the thing has feet and it has feet in no small measure to the, in no small

measure thanks to the people who are yelling about it and upset about it.

So let me just say a couple of things about it here.
