0:16.0

Welcome to the Bible study podcast. We continue on with John in chapter 17. You may recall that we've been

0:22.0

dealing with a number of chapters that dealt with the last supper. We're still on the same night,

0:27.4

but the scene has moved to the Garden of Githsemini, where Jesus is preparing to be betrayed.

0:36.0

And that will happen next week in chapter 18. This week is going to be all

about Jesus prayers, starting in verse one. After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and

1:55.3

He's almost gotten to the point where he has been the sacrifice that was sent, almost gotten

2:00.2

2:07.1

but also to the glory that he had before and will have again at this moment.

2:12.7

And then I liked this interesting thing that they may have eternal life.

2:16.3

You granted him authority over all people that he might have eternal life, you granted him authority over all people

2:18.1

that he might have eternal life to all those you have given him. Now, this is eternal life,

2:25.0

and this is interesting because I would have thought eternal life just met living forever.

2:29.1

But Jesus says that's not what he's talking about. I think the reason why just living forever isn't
