0:12.0	I worked in missile defense for what initially was called Star Wars, which turned into
0:19.0	ballistic missile defense initiative.
0:22.6	And then later, I worked with NASA.
0:27.6	Okay, so how did you get into working with Star Wars?

0:33.6	And I worked in a, I was called a CETA, it's systems engineering and technical work, that we were the technical brains of the government, that sort of thing.
0:49.2	The government manages the money, and then they hire in technical to to kind of manage the technology or to do
0:57.7	the technology so I went there for a for a job working and uh yeah I was back in the um middle 80s
1:07.8	1980s is that Reagan um yeah I think it started with Reagan.

1:15.6	And then how did you transition from the Star Wars stuff to NASA?
1:20.6	Well, I worked for about 15 years in the Star Wars arena.
1:30.3	And then I wanted to homeschool my children.
1:35.3	And my son was begging me to break him out of jail in school.
1:42.3	So...
1:43.3	How old? He was probably maybe 12, 13, something like that, very bright boy,
1:53.5	and he was just bored to death in school and didn't particularly like all the rules that
1:58.3	didn't make any sense to him and so on, like boys tend to be.
2:02.9	And so I went and talked with his teachers and talked with the school and came to the conclusion that he was right.
