What's up, friends. It's Jamie Grace and welcome to the Jamie Grace podcast. Today is a bittersweet situation.

0:07.5

I want to bring you guys some news that is bitter because it means that I don't get to talk to you for a little while,

0:11.6

but super sweet because the reason is fantastic and lovely and presumably adorable. And that would be my

0:20.6

kid that is supposed to show up in the next week

0:23.8

and a half, if that. We're officially on Baby Watch. We are packed for the hospital. We've got the

0:28.9

car seat by the door and ready to go. And we're really, really, really excited that the baby is

0:33.9

coming soon. Now, I've had no issue with like taking maternity leave. I played my last concert a couple of months ago and I don't travel again until the fall, which is when I'm going to pick back up again, play more music, of course, start working on new music as well to release and share with you guys. But taking that maternity leave really wasn't that big of a deal. My full-time job is to sing and play guitar. And I was like, okay, I'm going to take like four or five months off from singing and playing guitar. But what I didn't really calculate is that I wasn't going to be able to do my podcast and my YouTube videos in the same capacity that I was hoping. I definitely have tried as hard as I can. But as you guys can probably even tell, I'm like getting

1:13.8

out of breath, just trying to talk to you guys now. It's like I can talk in like small intervals,

1:19.6

like Instagram stories, but trying to do a podcast, trying to do YouTube videos. It's been

1:26.4

increasingly challenging. I'm so grateful for the incredible

1:30.8

support of my husband, the rest of my family, and also to have an amazing doctor that I've just

1:37.1

been so supportive and so helpful with helping me find the right rhythm when it comes to my health

1:42.4

and then adding on my team, helping me find the right rhythm when it comes to my health and then adding on my team helping me find the right

1:45.6

rhythm when it comes to doing things that I love and my job as far as like, you know, social

1:49.9

media and podcast and YouTube. And also making sure that, you know, the baby's coming first and

1:55.1

that my health is coming first as well. So it's been an interesting journey, a very like,

2:00.0

you know, well, yeah, just an interesting journey.

2:01.6

Like, it's something that I think all moms go through at some point, but especially first-time moms

2:07.6

and especially, like, self-employed first-time moms that are like, oh, if I don't schedule things,

2:14.3

I don't have to do them. And so I've just been in like a really cool,

2:19.2

great, awesome, exciting season of giving myself that grace and giving myself that mercy.

2:23.9

I mean, I've been a YouTube kid for what, 14 years now. I'm used to making YouTube videos
