And that's Martin Luther, and you don't have to take my words for it you can

take Martin Luther's words for it. And his preface to the epistles of St James and St Jude

in 1522 in his German translation of the Bible.

He says he likes.

He says, though the epistle of St. James was rejected by the ancients, that's a gross mischaracterization

of the debate about St. James, but nevertheless. I praise it and

considered a good book because it sets up no doctrines of men but vigorously

promulgates the law of God. However, to state my own opinion about it,

that without prejudice to anyone, I do not regard it

as the writing of an apostle.

Is it true that Luther removed James from the Bible?

It's odd that he's reading from an introduction to Luther's translation of James

which was included in Luther's Bible. How did we get the canon of scripture, the books that we say,

these are God's Word? Did someone decide? Was it a council? Was it a pope? Was it an emperor?
