I will never in this world, in this life, be free of my sin, and I will never in this world be free of Jesus.

And that doesn't make me give up on fighting sin.

It makes me all the more willing to fight sin.

Because if I think that Christ being for me and siding with me and

helping me is dependent on how well I've fought and diminished my sin, then it's

hopeless.

Well, and let's just say that then.

The doorway to the deepest, fullest, most satisfying, most joyful, most motivating, most powerful, most

motivating, most powerful hope, the doorway to that hope is hopelessness.

I have to abandon my thought that I can do this.

Yes.

That somehow, some way, I'll have the wisdom, the power, the strength, the insight, whatever

you would say, to defeat this on my own, you've got to give up on that.
