Summary

Hello all you Private Parters and welcome back to the podcast where nothing is off limits!

It’s Friday and we’ve got a particularly special episode today. Jamie is joined by someone who knows him very well… it's his therapist, Mal. Jamie has been going to Mal for 5 years and she has a pretty good insight into how Jamie’s brain works.

In this incredibly insightful episode, they openly talk about how Jamie was when he first came to see her and the problems he was facing. They discuss anxiety, depression and OCD as well as the various therapies that are out there.

As well as this, they chat about the stigma around mental health, medication and why it’s important to talk to someone, whether it’s a parent, partner or friend.

If you are struggling and need someone to talk to, the Samaritans have lots of resources on their website which you can access here.

Hello everyone, welcome to your Friday episode of Private Parts. Today we have a very

about the importance of talking about mental health, anxiety, depression, whatever it is.

And I personally have spoken about a lot of different things on this podcast.

So I thought today what I would do is I would bring on my therapist. My therapist who I have

1:03.3

seen every single week for the past four, five years, I've been incredibly fortunate to do that.

1:08.6

Her name is Mal. She was slightly nervous to come on because she didn't know what to expect.

1:13.7

It's not her real space. So I managed to persuade her that it would be a good idea.

1:19.3

And hopefully you will enjoy it. Now I thought it would be interesting to do that because I think

1:25.2

it would be a great way to sort of understand perhaps a little bit of what I've been through,

1:30.1

but also understand tools and techniques to help you if you feel anxious or upset or you're in

1:36.5

not a great spot at the moment because I think she's incredibly wise about helping people through

these places. She's amazing at CBT which is cognitive behavioral therapy. She is amazing.

It's sort of understanding and sort of wading through your thoughts to making you realise what

you're actually trying to say. I really enjoyed today's episode. It was amazing. Please go and check
