Good. Good to be back. Yes, we are deep into a series where we are tackling something pretty

tough i guess it's been a it's been a good experience from the perspective of we've learned a lot

we've grown a lot we've had a lot of hard conversations both nathan and myself before we've recorded

and with you because we are tackling something that matters and something that is oftentimes not

discussed and a little bit

taboo we're talking about how patriarchy and patriarchal systems in general worldwide are the breeding

grounds for abuse and violence of every kind and so in this particular episode today and last episode

we were talking about the correlation between patriarchy and violence

and abuse towards children. Last episode, it was a little bit more, I guess, global macro in nature,

and we promised that we were going to spend some time today actually honing in on some specific

vulnerabilities that we as a church system here in the Church of Jesus Christ

of Latter-day Saints struggle with because it maintains its patriarchal structure. And in so doing,

it becomes vulnerable to creating incidences of abuse and where children are not protected

as much as we all want children to be protected.

Yeah.

So to just kind of riff off what you're saying there, patriarchal systems don't cause abuse,

but patriarchal systems are going to be more susceptible to abuse

because of power structures, which is what we discussed in our last episode.
