Hello and surprise. I'm here on Monday Labor Day 2020 to introduce a brand new podcast.

newsletter, a Sunday newsletter called The Joint. Well, this is the podcast

version of that. Warshaw is the producer. The Brewer Brothers in New York are hosting,

and Surf Splendor is running distribution. So you know Tyler Brewer of the Brewer

Brothers from Swell Season Radio slash podcast. He and his brother Jamie are the ultimate

surf nerds. And I don't just mean they know a bunch of random surf facts. I mean that they actually

compile all of Derek Hines articles from various publications, scan them, put them together into a volume of all of his works, not to sell

nor even print, but just to pass them around to the few friends who would actually appreciate

that sort of thing. So every once in a while, I'll get a Dropbox link from Tyler with private

access to some project that he spent way too much time on.

So that is the level of surf nerd that we are dealing with here today.

So he's been podcasting out of New York for a very long time.

He's been good friends with Warshaw for a long time.

I have connected with him through the course of doing this Surf Splendor podcast.

We've surfed together a few times, gotten together in New York, California. And I really appreciate

not only his feedback and guidance as I've done this project over the years, but also his

contribution to surfing and also his little peak inside of the New York surf scene.

So I'm really excited to be able to collaborate with him and, of course, with Matt,

to finally get an encyclopedia of surfing version of a podcast.
