Chief Information Officer at Encore Electric Incorporated. Hey, Jeff, how's it going today?

I'm doing great, Michael. I'm really happy to be here today. Thank you. Well, we're happy to have you.

We're going to jump right into our first segments, our icebreaker

segment. We love to call it random access memories. I ask a question, and then you just respond

with the answer that comes to your head first. The first question you got is, if you could give

any IT-related advice or tip to your younger self, what would it be?

I would say probably the biggest thing is be prepared for lifelong learning.

I think IT is such a great field and it can be applied across all businesses.

We like to talk about the idea that we're in the technology business, even though we're a

construction company, because we can't really do anything without technology anymore.

And so through the different industries I worked in, it's shocking to me how much, and this is the fun of IT, how much you have to learn about how these businesses operate.

And so for me, to learn an industry through technology is really the most exciting art of it.

And I think earlier in my career,

I was really all about the tech skills

and getting really good at different things.

And really now I see the bigger picture of,

wow, these things really apply,

these technologies and skills apply to solving business problems.

That's where you really get the satisfaction of the job

because in people who are struggling with a problem, they now have a solution that you've helped create. And so I think that's what you really get the satisfaction of the job because then people who are struggling with a problem,

they now have a solution that you've helped create. And so I think that's what's the most satisfying part in it.
