Hello friends, I'm Jillian, welcome back to The Hamilkast. We're picking up this week with the very

first Hamilton Germany cast member to grace the podcast, Charles Simmons. Charles is taking on the

role of George Washington in the brand new production and first ever translation of the show.

In last week's episode, he talks all about how he went from Kansas City, Missouri to Germany,

his life in the music scene, from unreleased Backstreet Boys albums to being on the voice,

and how he joined the Hamilton family. But if you're all caught up, let's dive right back in.

Here's part two of my conversation with Charles Simmons.

Let's talk about this translation. Whatever you can you're allowed to say.

Because we're recording this in August, it probably won't come out until September or October,

so I want to talk about whatever we can talk about. But there's more conversation about the

translation than I anticipated. Are you noticing that? There's a lot of commentary on the translation,

and I'm missing something. I don't really understand. Absolutely. It is the most talked about

aspect of bringing Hamilton to Germany, period, and I have some theories on that.

I think because of the fact that Hamilton is such an amazing show, first of all,

they set it up like this. There are lots of Hamilton fans in Germany. Not as much as people might

think or as much as the fans might think, but Germany has amazingly a pretty hardcore fan base

of Hamilton fans. A lot of Patreon peeps are from there. A lot of listeners. I actually got

DM this morning that ended with greetings from Germany. So they are there. They are there.

Yeah, they're definitely there. And because this is so new, first of all, why German? That's one of

the major questions that a lot of people have asked. Why of all the languages that this show could have
