0:54.0	So some people as they get on in years and find themselves unattached, whether by divorce or
1:00.9	having been widowed, resign themselves to being single for the balance of their lives. They stop
1:07.9	looking, maybe they stop meeting new people altogether, or they just close themselves off to romance.
1:15.0	But not Oliver, Northrup or Claudia Moplin. Oliver or Chip, as everyone called him, had been married
1:22.6	a few times. Some of those marriages, like to his first wife Peggy, lasted longer than others.
1:28.7	With Peggy, he had several children before divorcing, remaring, divorcing, remaring, and divorcing
1:35.1	again. But then along came Claudia Moplin, herself a divorcee with three daughters, who like Chip was
1:42.7	entering her golden years when they met and got married in 1996. She was 60 and he was 71. And
1:51.9	their wedding was the launching point for what blossomed into a joyous and peaceful life they shared
1:57.9	in Davis, California, where Chip had lived for many decades. And for Claudia, who moved there in 1995,
2:06.0	Davis was an ideal community, safe, well maintained, and full of young people, students and academics
2:12.7	at UC Davis. Claudia loved being around knowledge, academia, and young people, and between the two of
2:18.8	them, Claudia and Chip had 11 children, 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Both opened
2:27.2	and loving families on both sides, and their families merged together with ease. Chip was a
2:32.8	World War II veteran who had served in the Navy, and after the war, he became an attorney and rose
2:38.3	to prominence, having by the end of the century become one of the most distinguished defense attorneys
