Dang, I thought, so I was going to be late for work.

But instead of rushing around to get ready, I let my head hit the pillow, still sleepy from last night's late dinner at my sister's place.

We'd get together every Thursday and talk, eat, maybe smoke a few, and really dig deep on all the weird stuff going on.

I reached for my phone, and really looking told the Google Assistant to send a SMS to my boss saying that I had a really bad migraine and I wouldn't be at work today.

She was cool with this. After all, I had been working late every day this week to get the final edits done on the first draft of the proposal for the new client.

The pitch was still next Thursday, so we had some time.

But Rebecca, the agency manager, wanted the draft submitted to the creative team.

The assistant didn't respond so, still half asleep.

I messaged her complaining of a migraine without really looking at my phone.

I did notice a bunch of red dots and numbers on my app, but I was just too sleepy to bother

with them for now.

Seconds later, her reply pained to my phone.

No problem, Sleepy Ed.
