Just this week, Chris Anderson, the head of Ted, was in Bath in the West of England, near to where I live.

And we took the opportunity to have a public dialogue about a project that we are working on together at the

moment.

So this was launched last week by Chris and Christina in New York and it's called TED

countdown. The idea is that Ted will be bringing

their very significant resources and expertise and relationships to try to do

something big about the climate issue. It has many parts to it but at least three

that I would set out here. The first is a major event which will happen in Berg and Norway in

October next year that will bring together many of the deepest

thinkers and most influential people to try to move the needle on action and

there's a lot more detail that can be explored in that regard on the website which is

countdown dot TED.com. The second piece is an initiative to get hundreds or

thousands of locations around the world to host simultaneous Ted style events

immediately after that event in Bergen, which we believe could be a transformative moment

for communities, for cities, for businesses, for church groups, for

schools, for all other types of entities to have a conversation about how they can implement
